Slightly longer: My professor for Electrical Circuit Analysis I told us that many people who take the class seek an alternate means to learn the material while still using the assigned textbook for homework problems.
I picked up Schaum’s Outline of Basic Circuit Analysis as my alternate method to understanding.

The writing is excellent, the problems have full step-by-step descriptions of every number derived from the problems, and I would not have understood the in-class material without it.

This textbook was recommended for the second semester of Introductory Electrical Engineering and it goes very well if you know some of the notions and terms before hand. It is easy to follow and understand most of the time and is much better written than many other textbooks out there.

Don’t expect it to hold your hand through everything though, a general knowledge is necessary. You’ll probably still need to go to class and won’t be able to breeze by just reading this book.

At first I was unsure whether this version of the text would meet my needs for the class because the class required the hardbound copy. This book is perfect however and a low cost alternative to a depreciating investment.
